Else Meidner was married to the important German Expressionist artist Ludwig Meidner. Her figurative etchings are quite similar in style to the work of her husband.

Alfred Döblin was a German writer whose works include more than a dozen novels as well as radio plays, screenplays, philosophical treatises, and political commentaries. His most celebrated book is Berlin Alexanderplatz which was written in 1929. This novel was twice adapted to film, most notably by Rainer Werner Fassbinder in 1980.
